Peraso Announces the X720 60 GHz Chipset for Fixed Wireless Access and Backhaul Markets for Small Cells

By | September 4, 2019

Peraso Technologies Inc., a leader in the development of mmWave technology and Wireless Gigabit (WiGig®) chipsets, nowadays announced the launch of its powerful X720 pre 802.11a and WiGig® chipset, aimed at fixed wireless access and small mobile devices backhaul.

Important chipset features include:

  1. Pout 24dBm for QPSK modulation, the chip set with the maximum power compatible with WiGig® never successfully applied.
  2. Support for the whole unlicensed 60 GHz frequency band of North America from 57 GHz – 71 GHz, operating in the 64 GHz – 71 GHz range significantly increasing the propagation interval due to an oxygen absorption level lower than the lower frequencies in the band.
  3. Support for medium and fourth channel bandwidth.
  4. 16 multiplex Rx / Tx ports for cost-effective implementations of phase antennas or parabolic antennas, providing connections to more kilometers.

The X720 chipset is purposed at diverse high quality applications. In the FWA market, equipment applying the X720 will reach distances of 1.5 km, considerably larger than anything presently available on the market. With a parabolic configuration for applications such as the 5G backhaul, the chipset achieves connection distances of 5 km at a speed of 2 Gb / s.

The X720 chipset is set for the sample in September, with entire production scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019. Prices are available on request.
